Three centuries of technology reshaping where people live — and a proposal for what comes next, tested in Guizhou.
The project traces the technological breakthroughs since 1700 that moved humanity from countryside to city — concrete, the elevator, the automobile — and asks what the next set will do.
Autonomous vehicles, smart logistics, VR, drones and AI are treated as catalysts for a new habitation paradigm. Using Yilong New District in Guizhou as the case, the work proposes habitat frameworks for the coming era and examines how peri-urban regions might be reshaped.
